About the Jewish Community of Bermuda
Our community is quite active and overseen by a Board of 11 people, which includes a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. We hold our Annual General Meeting in the early summer. For many events, community members volunteer to lead, since our visiting Rabbi, A. Nathan Abramowitz from Washington D.C., comes to Bermuda to conduct services for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and another holiday (Purim or Sh avuot).
Generally we arrange a large, communal Passover Seder and a Break Fast Meal for Yom Kippur, both of which are generally attended by about 75 members, guests, and visitors. The details and venue for these events are posted on the Community Calendar and Upcoming Events pages.
Shabbat services are hosted by various community members once monthly, typically the first Friday of the month.
