Jewish Marriages in Bermuda
With the ocean as their mikveh and spectacular outdoor scenery, many couples are starting to come to Bermuda not only to honeymoon but to get married. Since the community does not have a resident Rabbi, it is imperative that the couple find a rabbi willing to come to Bermuda to perform the ceremony during their early preparations for the wedding. Rabbi Abramowitz (our visiting Rabbi) will perform marriages in the Conservative tradition. We may have other Rabbi's to suggest who may be available. Bringing in the Rabbi includes the cost of air, accomodations and meals during their stay. We cannot offer suggestions for a Rabbi who will perform mixed marriages. There are ecumenical ministers on the Island who have performed mixed marriages.
Several hotels and marriage services are available to help with planning and logistics. The closures and reconstruction following Hurricane Fabian have left the situation unclear. More information will be posted when it is available.
