President’s Message, August 2021
Shalom All,
I hope that you are all well and staying safe.
It's hard to believe that it's been a year since last year's COVID HHD services, it's been a difficult year with no end in sight. It is not easy for any of us but we must do our best under the circumstances. Like last year we have to make adjustments to our usual HHD routines.
This year Rabbi Berman WILL be able to be here LIVE in the Centre! We are also excited to welcome our very own Chazan (Cantor) Warren Bank to the community who will add his beautiful voice and tunes to the services. We also have two members learning and practicing their shofar blowing skills for us. The service will be on ZOOM for those of you unable or reluctant to join us in person.
We hope to have a kids storytime in Susie's Garden during an appropriate time during services on RH and YK. The rest of the service will resemble last years', we will sit in family bubbles. Attendance is limited to 50 people (including children)( which is not likely to be an issue for us! :-) )
Recent travellers should be prepared to be asked for a safekey. We will be keeping a tracing record of attendees. See details below for meal arrangements and please make reservations if you plan to join. Our daytime RH lunches will include light refreshments sponsored by a member.
Could I please ask you all to pay 2021-2022 membership fees ASAP if you haven't already ? It really helps us administratively to be organised in advance.
On another note it has been a very sad summer for some of our members who have lost their loved ones. We all wish the Alkons, The Stephensons and Warren Bank long life.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and well over the Fast!
L'shana tova Tika tayvoo to all!
B'shalom,
Fiona and The Board
